Jack the Geezer is a busy, vibrant neighbourhood café in Middle Park, just 6km from Melbourne CBD.

We’re easy to get to via 96 tram, bike or car, with plenty of parking nearby.

We serve Veneziano Coffee and have a strong coffee program, quality equipment and a drinks menu that goes well beyond the standard flat white.

We’re a fast-paced café with a loyal local following and a strong connection to our community. Our team works closely together, supports each other and knows how to move when things get busy.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Barista All-Rounder to join our team in a full-time position.

You’ll primarily be working on the coffee machine during our busy mornings, then pivoting into an all-rounder role as required — helping on the floor, taking orders, running drinks and food, and engaging with customers.

This role would suit someone who enjoys being part of the whole café operation rather than staying behind the machine all day.

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

Has solid barista experience and is confident working on the machine during busy service

Can produce consistent, high-quality coffee at speed

Is confident steaming milk and maintaining good workflow during peak periods

Is happy to work as an all-rounder when required

Is friendly, reliable and comfortable engaging with customers

Works well as part of a team

Can handle a fast-paced café environment

Takes pride in keeping their workspace clean and organised

Has strong communication and customer service skills

Hours

This is a full-time position with set, fixed rostered shifts from Monday - Friday. No weekend shifts.

Our café opening hours are:

Monday–Friday: 5:30am–3:30pm

Saturday–Sunday: 6:00am–4:00pm

Be able to work from 5:30am

Pay is Award Rate – Level 2.
