We’re looking for an experienced, passionate barista who loves great coffee, positive energy, and working with people. This role is ideal for someone who wants to use their hospitality skills to make a genuine impact — helping train, mentor, and prepare young people for real employment while being part of building something from the ground up.

This is a growing role. While the café is being developed, you’ll help us run training sessions, prepare participants for hospitality work, assist with program design, and contribute to the setup of the mobile café. Once the café is operational, you’ll play a key role in running the café on wheels and shaping its culture and presence.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Making high-quality coffee and maintaining excellent barista standards
  • Helping design and deliver barista and hospitality training for participants
  • Mentoring and supporting young people as they build confidence and job-ready skills
  • Assisting with the setup of the mobile café, including equipment selection and workflow
  • Helping create a positive, welcoming culture and strong social media presence
  • Supporting the launch and ongoing operation of the café on wheels
  • Optional opportunity to take on casual youth support work, if interested

Who We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Strong barista experience with the ability to make consistently great coffee
  • Confident working independently and taking ownership of a coffee service
  • Positive, bubbly personality with strong people skills
  • Genuine interest in supporting and mentoring at-risk youth

Highly Regarded

  • Experience training junior staff or mentoring others
  • Interest in social enterprise, community projects, or youth work
  • Comfort contributing ideas around branding, culture, and customer experience
  • Social media confidence or interest in helping promote the café

Why Join Paylos?

  • Be part of building a social enterprise from scratch
  • Use your skills to create real employment pathways for young people
  • Work in a fun, energetic, values-driven team
  • Help shape the culture, training model, and public face of a unique café on wheels
  • Grow with the project as it expands

About the Impact

Many of the young people we work with don’t thrive in mainstream education or employment pathways. This café exists to give them a different starting point — practical skills, confidence, routine, and belief in themselves. Your role will be central to making that happen.

If you’re a great barista who wants to build something meaningful, energetic, and impactful — we’d love to hear from you.
